Welcome to the
Measure B Bond Program
Thanks to the voters of the College of the Desert Community College District, Measure
B, a $346.5 million bond measure, successfully passed on March 2, 2004. This measure
will provide the necessary funds to improve and expand the districts educational
centers. New classrooms, computer labs, and science labs will accommodate expanded
job training and academic programs. As a result, College of the Desert will help
to provide a better-educated workforce, which will benefit local business and stimulate
our economy.
Measure B represents a large portion of the College's $372 million Facilities Master
Plan and only includes the most critical needs of the College. The Facilities Master
Plan results from the collaboration of many, including students and staff at the
College of the Desert and individuals and groups from communities in the Coachella
Valley, the College's service area.
An independent Citizen's Oversight Committee guarantees that all bond funds
are spent exactly as promised to ensure taxpayer safeguards and confidence.
