Geoffrey Kiehl

Geoffrey Kiehl has 24 years experience in public service including 12 years with the San Jose/Evergreen Community College District as their Director of Fiscal Services/Controller where he accounted for an extensive new construction and reconstruction program at their two colleges.

While serving as the Associate Superintendent/Chief Business Officer for the Fremont Union High School District in Sunnyvale and Cupertino, he oversaw spending on the last three years of their $144 million General Obligation bond approved by the voters in 1998 and conducted meetings of their Citizens’ Oversight Committee for that bond program.

He also laid the groundwork for the identification of projects and passage of FUHSD’s $198 million school facilities General Obligation bond in 2008. Geoffrey is currently serving as the Director of Finance and Treasurer for the City of Palm Springs.

Geoffrey, along with his wife, Joyce, and their three children, moved to La Quinta in 2008. He is anxious to reconnect with community colleges and feels that serving as a member of the College of the Desert’s Citizens’ Oversight Committee is an ideal opportunity to utilize his background and skills to give back to our Coachella Valley community.
